Under the direction of Irwin Jensen and Harvey Rawlinson, school music instructors, the con-tenants con-tenants entered in vocal, piano and instrumental numbers. Mrs. Winnifred S. Adamson, club president, awarded cash prizes to first-place winners in each department. depart-ment. The three young contestants to receive top honors were Wallace Saling, son of Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Wall-ace Saling, clarinet; Melvina Judd, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Grant B. Judd, voice; Gail Thorne, daughter daugh-ter of Mr. and Mrs. J. LeRoy Thorne, piano. Judges were J. D. Chri.stensen, head of the music department, Payson High School, assisted by Mrs. Dorothy Christensen, his wife. Arrangements for the contest were in charge of Mrs. Faye Belliston, Bel-liston, chairman of the club music committee; Mrs. Geneva Gibson, and Mrs. Ora Thorne, music committee com-mittee members. "On the whole, this year's contest con-test was superior. The response of a selective audience was gratifying.. gratify-ing..
