Show Navy to Build $30,000,000 Detroit Plant The navy plans to build a $30,-000,000 $30,-000,000 plant near Detroit, Michigan, for the assembly and testing of jet aircraft engines for the department of defense. Several thousand persons per-sons will be employed there on completion com-pletion of the plant early in 1953. Parts for the engines will be manufactured manu-factured elsewhere. The Chrysler corporation will operate the plant as long as the defense department needs this type of engine, the navy said. Improved transportation management manage-ment at military installations is the goal of 44 freight traffic management manage-ment seminars now being held by the department of defense. The five-day, five-day, forty-hour lecture and discussion discus-sion courses emphasizing principles of freight traffic management are being given to more than 2,000 military mili-tary and civilian traffic personnel at army, navy, and air force installations instal-lations throughout the country. |
