Show Manila 4-H Clubs Win Large Number Of Blue Ribbons At Utah State Fair Manila 4-H Clothing club, on Wednesday morning "proudly donned don-ned their blue ribbon , school dresses, to display to school friends. Dresses were returned early thsi week after winning blue ribbon ratings at the Utah State Fair. Girl winners of- the two-year two-year clothing club are Kathleen Allen, Norma Jean and Julia Ann Warnick, and Myrna Turner. Their club leader is Marilyn W. Walker. In addition to the dresses, the state prize winning group exhibits exhib-its were made up of: Shoulder projectors, Kathleen and Norma Jean; record books, Julia Ann and Kathleen; hemmed patch, Myrna and Julia Ann. Honors also went to the Manila 4-H 4ht year food club with blue ribbon ratings. Kathleen Allen, bottle of canned can-ned beef; Nancy Lou Warnick, two bottles of canned chicken and ham. These products were selected select-ed to go to Tortalnd, Oregon, for the Pacific International Exposition Expos-ition of 4-H clubs. Nancy Lou Warnick won blue ribbon in the 4-H canning achievement ach-ievement contest. Kathleen Allen was blue ribbon 1 winner with canned emergency meal. Arlene Harris and Nancy Lou Warnick were blue ribbon winners winn-ers in the meal preparation contest, con-test, scerving the meal prepared at the U. of U. to Miss Fern Shipley, Logan, Mrs. Snow, of the Y. W. M. I. A. general board, Miss Bessie Atwood and Mrs, Perry, 4-H Club Leaders of Utah County. These girls will receive Gold Medals at the county achievement achieve-ment program in November. Nancy Warnick also won blue ribbon in home economics judging, judg-ing, and was awarded a gold meadl by J. A. Theobold, manager mana-ger of the state fair. Individual blue ribbons. Shirley Swenhon, blue ribbon for individual indivi-dual entry of cookies; Kathleen Allen record book and also received rece-ived blue ribbons for their group exhibit, made up of Hostess scrapbook, Nancy and Shirley; Record book, Arlene and Nancy; canned cherries & beans, Arlene; canned ham and apricot juice, Kathleen; canned hamburger and beets, Nancy; cookies, Kathleen and Nancy. Mrs. Merrill N. Warnick War-nick is group leader. Individual entry of home improvement im-provement club winning blue ribbons: rib-bons: hot pads, Joan Hancock and Karolyn Swenson; knife rack, Joan Hancock; Group leaders, Nancy Warnick and Latella Bev-eridge. |
