Show AN ORDINANCE AN ORDINANCE LEVYING A SFECIAL IMPROVEMENT TAX TO COVER THE COSTS OF SPECIAL IMPROVEMENTS (N STREET PAVING DISTRICT NO. 7, PLEASANT GROVE CITY UTAH' AND PROVIDING FOR THE ASSESSMENT OF PROPERTY IN SAID DISTRICT. BE IT' ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PLEASANT PLEAS-ANT GROVE CITY, UTAH : Section 1 For the purpose of raising revenue to pay the costs' and expenses of Special street paving improvements made during 1953 in street paving district No. 7 in Pleasant Grove Utah the City Council does hereby levy a special improvement im-provement tax, and does hereby provide for the assessment thereof against the real property in said district hereinafter described. ,, , Section 2 This special tax is levied upon all real property bounding or abutting on both sides of the streets which have been paved and which are hereinafter described, which property prop-erty is to be especially affected and benefited by said improvements improve-ments and it is hereby adjudged and determined that all such property has been benefited by said improvements to the full amount of the taxes hereby levied and said lots and tracts of land "are hereby-assessed in accordance with the linear foot frontage abutting on said streets to the full depth of said lots and tracts of land. , Section 3.-The total cost of the above mentioned special improvements which have now been completed, is the sum of $6 746 00 and the abutters portion of the costs and expenses ex-penses thereof is the sum of $4,146.00 and the city treasurer is hereby authorized and directed to assess said abutting real property in accordance with the provisions of this ordinance and for the purpose above mentioned. Section 4. The special tax hereby levied and assessed upon abutting lots and tracts of land is .50c per front or linear foot ortall property in front of which said paving and improvements have been constructed, provided however, that corner lots shall be exempted as hereinafter provided. In making up the assessment assess-ment each corner lot or corner tract of land shall be allowed a reduction of 25 feet frontage wherever the streets running along both sides of said corner lots have each been paved and improved along the full frontage of both sides of said comer lots. Section 5; Said special tax assessments shall be due and payable at the office of the City Treasurer in Pleasant Grove, Utah in two equal installments as follows: one-half thereof on the 1st day of December, 1953 and the other half on the 1st day of December, 1954. Interest at the rate of 6 per annum shall be charged and collected on all unpaid portions of said assessments from December 1, 1953 until the same are paid. Any such assessments which are not paid when the same become be-come due hereunder will be delinquent and the lots and tracts of land upon which said assessments are levied will be subject to special tax sale as provided by law. Section 6. The real property on which this special tax is levied is described as follows: All property abutting on each side of -the streets which have been paved and improved and which said streets are as follows: Second North strest from 2nd East to 7th East; 5th East street from 1st South to 3rd North; 6th East street from Center street to 3rd North. The real property on which this special tax is assessed is also further described as follows, to-wit: All abutting lots and tracts of land along the South side of Blocks 53, 54, 55, 56, and 57; along the North side of Blocks 47, 46, 45, 44, and 43; along the East sides of Blocks 30, 38, 45, and 55; along the West side of Blocks 29, 39, 44, and 56; along the East side of Blocks 39, 44 and 56 and along the West side of Blocks 40,, 43 and 57, all in Pleasant Grove City, Utah. Section 7. This ordinance shall become effective on the 23rd day of November, 1953. PASSED by the City Council of Pleasant Grove City, Utah, this 19th day of October, 1953 W.
