West, Executive Secretary of the U.E. A. presented for the interested crowd a brief history of financing education edu-cation in the State of Utah, and showed us wherein our State Legislature Leg-islature is geven the responsibility of financing the schools of the State. He explained that our local boards are only the trustees of the funds which the legislature provide. He also gave us a very live picture of the increasing enrollment enroll-ment which creates a problem both in housing and in teaching and told us that the only way we might hope to get relief will be through legislation and unless there is a special session called by the Governor to help solve this problem, that education will suffer suf-fer very definitely because our legislature does not convene until un-til January, 1954. It was recommended that individuals in-dividuals and groups owe it to themselves, their children and the legislators to keep our legislators informed of their wishes. Those who would stifle our educational ed-ucational program are constantly informing the legislators; therefore, there-fore, it is important that the parents par-ents of the children present their claim.
