Show Funeral Rites Held Monday For Swen Anderson Funeral rites were conducted Monday afternoon in the Third Ward Chapel for Swen Olof Anderson, And-erson, 86, who spent more than 50 years of his life in Pleasant Grove. The impressive service, with Bishop Calvin Walker in charge, began at 1 p.m. Invocation was offered by Jos. Robinson. Warren Kirk, accompanied accom-panied by Mrs. Donna Wright, sang "Softly and Tenderly Jesus Is Calling." i Sneakers were Neils Fugal, Daryl Huish' and President Merrill Mer-rill N. Warnick. All paid tribute to Mr. Anderson's Ander-son's honesty and thrift, his devotion devot-ion to his family and unfaltering faith in the Gospel. Also to Mrs. Anderson for her untiring care of her husband and family during their years of illness. Speakers also spoke of the eternal joys that come to the faithful. Warren Kirk, accompanied by Mrs. Wright sang "My Peace I Leave With You. Bishop Walker in his quiet, kindly manner spoke words of sympathy and appreciation for the Anderson family. The closing musical number was an organ solo "A. Perfect Day," by Miss Mary Walker, who also played play-ed prelude and postlude organ music. Benediction was pronounced pronoun-ced by Horrace Monson. Interment directed by Olpin Mortuary was made in the family plot in the Pleasant Grove City Cemetery, where J. C. Hilton offered of-fered the ddicatorial prayer. Pallbearers were Ed. Warbur-ton, Warbur-ton, Joseph Robinson, Horrace Monson, Benj. F. Adams, J. M. Macfarlane, and C. O. Newman. Flowers were cared for by the Third Ward Relief Society. Mr. Anderson died on Thursday, October 15, of pneumonia. He was bom April 17, 1867, at Engrmanland, Dalarne, Sweden. Came to United States in 1895, to Salt Lake City, 1905, a convert to LDS church. He had been a fanner, fann-er, worked for railroad, helped in construction. Survivors: Widow, Rike Mathilda Math-ilda Bjorklund Anderson, whom he married Oct. 10, 1898, Salt Lake Temple; one son, Carl S., Salt Lake City; three daughters Mrs. William C. (Olive) Heckman, Provo; Pro-vo; Mrs. David M. Eva Fowler, Breen, Colo.; Mrs. Francis B. (Lovetta) Slade, Red Mesa, Colo.; 19 grandchildren; four great-grand children; one brother, Alex, Elv-dalen, Elv-dalen, Sweden. |
