Show Lindon Council Meets On Various Public Projects The completion of the Henson Walker bridge across the canal in front of the Walker property makes this bridge once more a safe and permanent crossing. Since this is a regular school bus crossing cross-ing its completion was a much needed renovation before the commencement com-mencement of the school term. This is a step forward toward removing re-moving a safety hazard and much needed safeguard for our citizens. It was also reported at the Lindon City Council meeting recently that the Telephone Co. has been contacted con-tacted and had agreed to set the pole back on the northwest corner of Lindon Park and highway 91. Since this area has been opened for public use it has been found that the pole forms a hazard to car drivers who wish to enter the park from this corner. The council granted permission for Mayor W. D. Chapman and the water committee to meet, investigate inves-tigate and go ahead with the water improvement they find necessary to make Lindon's water system more efficient for its users. They decided to contact Mr. Frandson of the water works department and get his recommendations on this improvement. As soon as it is decided de-cided what will be done, bids will be accepted for the pipe that will be needed to complete the work. Other reports handled during the recent meeting included the agreement agree-ment of the council to have Attorney At-torney Farrell make up five copies of the revised ordinances he has been compiling. These copies will be made up in the form of a loose leaf binder and will be available for reference whenever needed. O. L. Swenson reported on the progress of the tennis court and Harold Kictch reported on the success suc-cess of the Lindon Community Fair. The road committee also reports re-ports that the majority of the land owners have paid their assessment on the church road oiling project and that the seal coat will be put over the road oiled during the summer. Regular monthly business was taken care of before the close of the meeting. |
