Show J. Lloyd Olpin Is Honored At Gila College ! The Gila Junior College of Thatcher, That-cher, Arizona dedicated their 1949 Alumni Association Homecoming to J. Lloyd Olpin, professor of mathematics. Mr. Olpin has been teaching at Gila for 21 years. This service began in 1926 when he received re-ceived his bachelor's degree from the BYU. In 1938 he received his master's degree from the University of Colorado Col-orado at Boulder. Born in Pleasant Grove, he attended at-tended elementary and high school here. During his four years at the BYU he took a break and filled a mission for the LDS church. Thatcher has been his home for 24 years. In 1927 he married Ivy Stoweli. They have two children, Delia Jean, a Senior at the BYU and Jay, a freshman at the Thatcher That-cher high school. He has three brothers and three sisters. Dr. A. Ray Olpin, president 1 of U. of U., Lawrence, an architect arch-itect of Ogden, Ralph, an accountant account-ant of Palo Alto, Cal.', Cora and Pearl of Pleasant, Grove, Ruth of Provo. His mother, Alvira S. Olpin Ol-pin lives in Pleasant Grove. His father died in 1923. I . |
