Show Fish Egg-Taking Begun at Two Utah Hatcheries .'he stripping of rmbow trout f. the Springville Hatchery bewail be-wail earlier this year than ever before in the hatchery's history. The egg-taking operations at this hatchery began on October 11 when 200,000 eggs were taken. Director J. Perry Egan reports that the first egg-take of German Ger-man Brown eggs will begin at the Morgan Hatchery during October. In normal years we would get about 2 million eggs from the Morgan Hatchery. In addition to these two sources sourc-es of eggs, we also keep rainbow spawners at the Kamas plant. Several wild egg-taking stations are located in various areas of oi:r State, but in addition it is necessary for the Department of Fi.h r.nd Game to purchase ar.nur.lly from private hatcheries, hatcher-ies, iome of which are in other States, around eighteen million |
