Show work, and that meat can be stored stor-ed in freezer-lockers without giving giv-ing up ration stamps. "You may not give away rationed ra-tioned meat without collecting points," explains the county agent. "However, you may loan meat from animals you have raised to any person who is likewise a home producer of meat. The borrower must return to you within six months an amount of meat equal in point value to the meat you loaned, to him. Procedure Given For Farm Produced Ptleat New regulations to simplify the procedure through which farmers must go to slaughter meat for farm eating or for sale were enumerated this week by S. R. Boswcll, Utah county agent, who states that a complete leaflet leaf-let will follow soon through extension ex-tension service channels. Before too many people become be-come alarmed about the new OPA regulations on slaughtering farm animals, Mr. Boswell wants to stress a few points for the benefit of state farmers. First of all, he advises that farm slaughter permits must be obtained ob-tained if the intention is to sell any farm-produced meat. These may be procured at, county USDA war boards. In addition, all meat must be graded, and each wholesale cut must be tagged or stamped with the grade and permit number. Mr. Boswell says that these instructions in-structions are also available at the war board. Legal prices are considered top for sale of farm-produced meat. The correct number of points for all meat sold or given away should be collected, he advises, and all points collected for sale of meat should be mailed or turned in at the end of each month to local war price and rationing board, together with a simple form J'urni.shed by the board. The agent emphasizes that when meat produced on the farm is sold directly to consumers, .stamps may not bo accepted which are not yet valid on city markets.
