Show PARENTS HONOR BRIDAY COUPLE Mr. and Mrs George McMilllen entertained Thursday evening, Jan. 21, at a perfectly planned wedding reception in compliment to Mr. and Mrs. Bill Harris who were married mar-ried on January 20 in the Salt Lake L. D. S. Temple. The lovely affair took place in the Second Ward recreation hall which was artisticallly decorated with ferns, honesty plants ' and Christmas cactus. In the receiving line were, the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Geo. McMillen, the groom's parents, Mr. and Mrs Arthur Harris, bride and groom the bride's maids, Miss Edith Sweet, Miss Verla Tomlinson Miss Berniece Hrienson and Miss Gloria Wadley, Miss Beth Gillman and Harold Prestwich best man. The bride was beautiful in a gown of flowing white with finder-tip finder-tip veil of silk chiffon, held in place with tiny rose buds. She carried car-ried a bridal bouquet of red roses and gardenias. Miss Wadley, Miss Tomlinson & Miss Gillman wore blue, Miss Sweet wore pink, while Miss Hrein-son Hrein-son chose old rose, all wore corsages cor-sages of pink and white sweet peas.. Mrs McMillen wore pale blue and Mrs. Harris chose dark blue. They also wore corsages of sweet peas. The men of the bridal party wore dark suits and boutonnieres of white carnations Wm. C. Smith was master of ceremonies and after the bridal march introduced the progam : Miss Marilyn Richards accompanied hy Miss Carol Clark played a violin solo "At Dawning;" Miss Jeanne West accompanied by Miss Maurine Maur-ine Lim sang "There Are Such Things" A humorous reading was given by Mrs. Bronson. A mixed quartette quar-tette including Miss Marilyn Richards, Rich-ards, Miss Kathryn Kirk, Warren Kirk and Gordon Wright sang "Still Is The Night." They were accompanied by Miss Carol Clark. Miss Lola Jensen, accompanied by her father Irwin Jensen played a flue solo "Oh Promise Me." Toast to the bridal couple was given by Mrs. Donna Ash, assisted by Reva West vocalist and Irwin Jesnen pianist. During the dancing dan-cing of the bridal waltz, Warren Kirk accompanied by the orchestra san "I Love You Truly." All guests were greeted at the door by Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Thorne, and ushers included Ralph Sweet, Holly Maxfield, Stanley Walker and Lloyd Walker. In the lower hall delicious refreshments re-freshments wer presided over by Mrs. Robert Marrott and Mrs. Golden Peay who poured from Crystal Cry-stal bowls at a long table, centered with snapdragons flanked wth tall red candles. Assisting in serving were Mrs. Margaret Dexter, Mrs. Beth Fenton, Miss Doris Peay, Miss Dorothy Anne Nelson, Miss Donna May Marrott and Miss Carol Dawn Warnick The gorgeous gift display was in charge of Mrs Howard Mathews, Mrs. Connell Larson and Mrs. Ferris Fer-ris Siddaway They were assisted by Mss Diane Thorne, Elaine Olpin. Ora Jense, Ardell Peterson and Carol McMillen. The young couple were married on January 20, by President D. A. Broadbent in the Salt Lake Tem-nle. Tem-nle. They were accompanied to the temple by the bride's mother Mrs. Pearl McMilen. They will make their home here, where Mrs. Harris will continue her school work. |
