Richardson Rich-ardson Louder was born at Declo, Idaho, September 2, 1920. When he was eleven days old his mother died and he lived with his grandmother grand-mother Richardson at Francis, Utah Ut-ah until he was five years old. At that time hjs father married again and moved his family to Orem, where they have since resided. He attended Lindon district school and Ple.isant Grove High School. On February 10, 1941, he enlisted In the Utah Natinal Guard, and on Mrach 3, 1941, was inducted into the federal service. He spent several sev-eral months training at San Luis Obispo. California. On Dcccmebr 2, 1941, his battery was ordered to the Phillipine Is-Islands. Is-Islands. By December 7 1941, all equipment and belongings were, loaded aboard a transport anl thev were almost read to leave, but due to kthe outbreak of the war their orders were changed. From then until March, 1942, he guarded defense plants and aircrafj factories in diferent parts of lower ' California. On March 22, 1942 he was trasfered to Service Battery, 1st battalion 204th 'F. A. and sent to Fort . Lewis, Washington He was promoted . to Corporal Technician, July 7, 1942. He was moved to Camp Forrest, Tennesse on December 4, 1942. He spent six weeks at Camp Gordon, Georgia. |
