Show STRAWBERRY MY WILL BE HELD ON 4th OF JUNE I On account of the recent cold weather, which retarded the ripening ripen-ing of berries in this area, Utah's annual Strawberry Day has been changed fom Friday, May 28th, to Friday, June 4th according to the officials of the Pleasant Grove Chamber of Commerce, who sponsors spon-sors the big celebration each year. The program for the celebration, according to Ertman Christensen, is moving along very satisfactory, and with hte large number of defense de-fense workers in this area at the present time, the celebration will be the largest yet to be held. One of the main attractions of the celebration will be the mini-ture mini-ture parade, and the parade committee com-mittee reports that 'the mothers are responding splendidly to the idea of a miniture parade, and they have a number of women who have already signified their willingness to enter a float in the parade. One of the main attractions that the youngsters are already asking about is the merry-go-gound and the concessions committee reports that Monte Younor will be here with his rides, possibly not as many as he had here last year but the youngsters will have a good time. SPECIAL PROGRAM AT WINDSOR WARD RELIEF SOCIETY TUESDAY A special -program will be conducted con-ducted in Windsor Ward Relief Society next Tuesday afternoon, acording to Mrs. Sarah Hooley, President. With Mrs. Enid Johnson and Mrs. Erma Swensen in charge, the program will be as follows Opening words Rose Baxter; opening open-ing song, America by Congregation; Congregat-ion; accordion solo, Miss Varley; Foreward, Edith Stark; Patriotic songs by boys and girls chorus; "Our Church Stands Ever Ready To Defend Cause of Freedom" Jane Elsimore. "Flag Without A Stain" Viola Hancock acocmpanied by Erma Jarmen; Our Boys As Missionary Mission-ary Soldiers" Dorthy Johnson; Roll Call of Service Men's Wives and Mothers. Closing song, "Star Spangled Banner" by congregation. All Relief Society members and friends are invited to be present ns this will be the closing social of the year. |
