Show With The Service Men Relatives here have been advised that Lee Cobbley of Camp Hahn, near Riverside, California, was on April 1, promoted to Private First Class. Private First Class Lynn Culli-more Culli-more returned last week to New York, after visiting with his wife in Salt Lake City, and his parents, par-ents, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. J. Culli-more Culli-more of Pleasant Grove. On Sunday morning Private Hex Walker surprised his wife and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Basil WTalker by calling them by telephone from Texas. Private Walker has now been transferred to North Carolina. Private Dean Hunt spent Tuesday Tues-day afternoon and "Wednesday with his parents Mr. and Mrs. J. G. Hunt. Private Hunt has been transferred from Florida, to the Salt Lake Air Base. Third Class Petty Officer Samuel Sam-uel J. Green is spending a ten day furlough with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. L. Green. Samuel graduated on April 8. from a navy radio school at the University of Colorado. Word has been received here by Mr. and Mrs. Archie Boren. that their son Private Glen Boren is improving at an army hosiptal at Fort Riley, Kansas, where he is confined suffering from a knee injury. Mrs. Eva Howard is happy this week over the arrival of her son Charles, who is spending a few days here. Charles is a pharmacists pharmac-ists First mate with the Marines, and is stationed at New River, North Carolina. Young Howard enlisted in the navy more than two years ago. Sergeant Jack Cook returned Wednesday by plane to his duties dut-ies at Camp Ord, California, after visiting with his wife' and two children in American Fork & with his grandfather J. C. Peterson and other relatives in Pleasant Grove. Private John M. Christiansen and Corporal Clarence J. Newman, arrived Fiday from Camp Forrest, Tennessee to spend a weeks furlough fur-lough with relatives and friends. PFC. Christiansen is the son of Pres. and Mrs. M. S. Christiansen and Corporal Newman is the son of Mr. and Mrs. C. 0. Newman. Staff Sergeant Cook of Camp Forest Tennesee, arrived home Wednesday evening to visit with his wife Phyllis Gillman Cook and to see his first born son, who arrived ar-rived on April 13, at the American Fork hospital. Sgt. Cook is the son of Mr. and Mrs June F. Cook of this city. |
