It was the local team's third victory, evening even-ing up with as many losses. In Friday night's game at Lincoln, the Cavemen were led to victory by Earl Holmstead, who set a scoring record for the season by accounting for 26 points alone. The local team played a steady and powerful game. There won't be any Valentines exchanged ex-changed tonight, when American Fork meets Pleasant Grove on the Cavemen's home floor. Pleasant Grove eked out a close victory in their first game with the Cavemen, at the strawberry city, and now the local team is out for revenge against the league-leading visitors. A victory vic-tory for American Fork over Pleasant Pleas-ant Grove and a win for Provo over B. Y. High tonight would throw the race into a three-way tie between Pleasant Grove, B. Y. and Provo, with American Fork in the next spot. In the other district games Friday night, Provo toppled Pleasant Grove, 29 to 25, and B. Y. High scored a 33 to 30 victory over Lehi. Thus threw P. G. and B. Y. High into a tie for the lead. On February 21 (Friday night), American Fork will meet Lehi, on the Pioneers' home floor, in a game which is expected to be another of those traditional grudge fights. This game was previously announces an-nounces for February 18, but it will be held, as usual, on Friday. |
