Show Community Fair Program Is Outlined By Pi. Grove Lions Club Leaders For Friday Everything is complete for the Annual Tea of the Cadmus Club-tomorrow, Club-tomorrow, Saturday, September 6 featuring the outstanding women of Pleasant Grove. The delightful event will be held in the gardens of Mrs. Lois West from 4 to 7 o'clock. Honored on this occasion will be Mrs. Josephine West, chosen as the representative Pioneer Mother. She is an' industrious example of our fine pioneer ancestry of Pleasant Grove. Among her many sons is General J. Wallace West of National Nat-ional fame in the recent European conflict. Mrs. Alvira Olpin has been chosen cho-sen as Outstanding Mother. She was Pleasant Grove's representative representat-ive in the Centennial Contest for Utah's Ooutstanding Mother, the president of the University of Utah, E. Ray Olpin is among her fine family and the architect of the First ward church, another son is Lawrence Olpin. Chosen for their social work in the Community and the state are Mrs. May Grua and Mrs. Richard R. Lyman. Mrs. Lyman being one of the three Utah women to be in Who's Who. Mrs. Lucille Harvey Walker has been selected for devoted and untiring un-tiring service to the community. She has been a moving force in the beautification of Pleasant Grove, establishing the Pioneer Park and the Pioneer Log Cabin Monument. She was one of the authors of the Pleasant Grove history his-tory in the recently published centennial cen-tennial history of Utah County. Mrs. Augusta W. Grant and Mrs. Howard R. Driggs were chosen as Pioneer teacher and musician, res- : pectively. Both have been and are worthy helpmates to famous husbands. hus-bands. Mrs. Rose B. Hayes has been selected sel-ected for her devoted work In the " Daughters of Utah Pioneers. She , has done much to preserve the early history of Pleasant Grove, and the Pioneer Relics. In the field of education Pleasant Pleas-ant Grove women have been unusually unus-ually active. Chosen from this group are Miss Effie Warnick, head of the Home Economics of the BYU, Miss Hermese Peterson, supervisor of Elementary Educat ion of the BYU Training school. Miss Estelle Fenton, inspirational leader of our young people at the Pleasant Grove High School, Miss Emma Bush, who for many years has helped lay the educational foundation of the young children at the Pleasant Grove Central School, Mrs. Mary Gleason Max-field, Max-field, one of the excellent earlier teachers of Pleasant Grove, and Mrs. Ella Larsen Brown, Educator and Librarian at present serving I in this capacity in Salt Lake City. The Cadmus Club is proud to present these outstanding women as their honored guests. We invite the women of Pleasant Grove to come and pay them homage. |
