Show Miss Barbara Pender and Miss Lawana Egbert of West Jordan were week-end guests of Mfes Jetta May Walters. Mr-, and Mrs. Stanley Peters moved into their new home on Second West and First North the first part of the week. The home is a modern bungalow. The members of the Bee Orchis club and their partners enjoyed a steak fry up American Fork canyon at Cave camp Saturday evening. There were 32 members and their partners present. The committee in charge of the affair included Mrs. S. T. Shelley. Mrs. Earl Bar-ratt, Bar-ratt, Mrs. Hayden Holindrake, Mrs. Humphries and Mrs. Warren Anderson. An-derson. Mrs. Mary Porter was guest of honor nt a party Tuesday night in Provo, given in her honor by Mrs. John Lewis. Lois Greenwood. LaVon Phillips, Bertha Clarke and Vivian and Pearl Jorgehson left Sunday morning for a ten day trip through Yellowstone park. Miss Nina Halliday left Monday for a two weeks' visit in Aftan, Wyoming, Wy-oming, where she will be the guest cf Miss Vesta Wright. Thursday Mrs. R. L. A.-.hby, Mrs. Kimball. Mrs. Mary Porter. Porter of Provo, and Mrs. George Mortimer and two children of Washington, D. C, were dinner guests at the R. L. Ashby home Friday evening. Mr. and Mrs. W. M. Bullock have purchased the Albert Conder home in the First ward and moved into it the first part of the week. Albert Al-bert Conder and his family have mcved into the Jennie Webb home on East Main street. Mr. and Mrs. William Chipman, Miss Ora Chipman and Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Briggs spent last week-end in Idaho. While there they attended the famous rcdeo at S'un Valley, near Ketchum, Idaho, which was sponsored by the Union Pacific Railroad. Mrs. A. W. Clyde attended the Writers Round -Up in Salt Lake City Friday. Saturday and Sunday. Friday evening the first session of the convention was held at the New-house New-house hotel. Dr. Lawrence E. Nelson, Nel-son, national president of the League of Western Writers, was the .speaker at this session. Saturday evening Mrs. Clyde attended the Bohemian Barbacue given at RoseCroft. the home of Maud Chaegqidbcn in Murray. Mur-ray. Sunday evening she attended a reception given at the Art Barn-Miss Barn-Miss Edith Clarke, who has s;cnt the nast seven months in New York. Dinner guests at the home tf Mr. and Mrs. Ted Lee Sunday were Mr. and Mrs. E. W. Baker of Murray :.ntl Mr. and Mrs. M. S. Gaddie of Garland. Mrs. Gaddie was formerly Miss Venna Kirkham. Mr. and Mrs. John Varivy and Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Tregaskls returned re-turned Saturday aft'-r having spent 1 the pa-a week visiting Boulder Dam. 1 Grand cinyon and Fish lake. The M. Men and Gleaner g:rl.s of the Fourth ward will entertain the officers and teachers of the Fourth ward M. I. A. and the new M. Men and Gleaner girls at a lawn party Tuesday evening nt the ward chawl. Mrs. George Ms of Salt Lake City entertained the members of the Variety club Thur. (lay afternoon after-noon at Bromley's. Three tables of bridge were played. Mrs. Anna Brown winning the club prize and Mrs. Rorer.baum the guest pn.'e. Late In the afternoon a dellclom I luncheon was served. S;ecial guets were Mrs Straum of Silt Lake ar.d Mrs. Rorenbaum of Chicago. I Mrs. Pearl Walters entertained Friday evening. August 13th. in honor of her daughter. Jetta Kay's 12th birthday at her home here. Thirty-three guests enjoyed a "Scav-nnger "Scav-nnger Hunt" a.s well n.s several other games. A delicious lunch was served by the hostess. |
