Show Pleasant Grove Locals Mrs. John Christensen of Orem, spent part of the week with her son! i Ernest Clayton. I Audry Earl of Mountain View,! Alberta, Canada, is visiting with his ' aunt, Mrs. J. O. Meeks. ! Mr. and Mrs. David Walker and daughter, Orpha, are spending the week in California. Mr. and Mrs. Ward Carlson spent Saturday , and Sunday visiting relatives rela-tives at Woods Cross. Mrs. Howard Christiansen and children of Ogden are spending the week with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph West. A group of the Holman family attended at-tended the Holman reunion in Pay-son Pay-son canyon Wednesday, August 19th. Miss Thelma GDlman, clerk at the Cullimore Mercantile, is spending her vacation at Yellowstone Park. Miss Lillian Sjoberg returned Tuesday from Salt Lake, after a few days visit on business and pleasure. Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Olpin are enjoying en-joying a vacation through the North Western States. William Taylor and Ethel Turner were married Saturday, August 14th, at the home of Bishop Frank D. I Atwood, who performed the marri- ! age ceremony. A six pound baby daughter was born to Alma and Leah Smith Stewart August 6th at the Crane Maternity Home in Provo. Mrs. Mary Cooper and Ella M. Cragun were invited to attend a social for the old Alpine Stake Relief Re-lief Society Board at Lehi Wednesday Wednes-day afternoon. J. O. Meeks, Beth Meeks and Ar-den Ar-den (Meeks returned Monday from a prolonged visit with relatives at Circleville, Utah. A marriage license was issued Monday to Elmer Theodore Hansen of Provo, and Edna Mae Farns-worth Farns-worth of Pleasant Grove. Mrs. Norma C. Adamson of Salt Lake spent Sunday wth her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ole Christiansen, and her children, who have been visiting here. Her daughter, June, returned home with her. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Fuden of Salt Lake City, visited Sunday with Mrs. Fuden's mother, Mrs. Carl Nelson, Nel-son, and her sisters in Pleasant Grove. Mrs. Dora Hansen is reported to be home from the hospital after an appendix operation, and is improving improv-ing nicely. Mrs. Walter Williams, Mrs. Odis Yancey and Mr. and Mrs. Gene Nelson Nel-son spent a few days at Fish Lake the past week. Mrs. Nelson remained remain-ed for a visit with her twin sister, Mrs. Williams, at Emery. Mrs. J. W. Gillman left Saturday to accompany her daughter-in-law, Mrs. John Gillman, of Salt Lake to Cleveland, Ohio, where they will get medical care for one of the twin girls, who is ill. Mr. and Mrs. Oscar M. Cragun spent the week-end at Las Vegas, Nevada. Little Patsy Ruth Cragun had her tonsils removed Wednesday morning. Mrs. Vern Cullimore and daughter Geneal, spent Tuesday in Salt Lake City visiting with Mr. and Sid Cullimore. CITY OFFICERS CONVENTION Mayor Lyean Johnson, Councilman Council-man W. W. Lim and Recorder Le-Grande Le-Grande White, left Wednesday afternoon af-ternoon to attend the three day State Municipal convention at Price. V As noted last week Mrs. Mary Neves will present her pupils in a piano recital this evening at 8:00 p. m. in the Third ward chapel. The Mother's Club members met Thursday at the home of Ida H. West The program was under the direction of Josie Walker. Professor Gerritt DeJong and wife ot Provo furnished the entertaining numbers. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Adamson, Mr. and Mrs. Vern Cullimore and Mrs. Mariam Adamson and families spent Sunday in Strawberry with Mr. Mariam Adamson. Mrs. Adamson remained there for a two weeks visit. Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Davis of Vineyard, Vine-yard, Mrs. Effie Lysle Hunter and sons' Oscar and James, of Salt Lake, and Mr. and Mrs. S. W. Hilton enjoyed en-joyed a trip around the "Sky Line-drive Line-drive in the N'ebo district Saturday and part of Sunday. A marriage license was issued at Salt Lake Wednesday, to Ralph La-monte La-monte Messer Smith of Salt Lake City and Miss Helen Emma Nellie Blackwell, daughter of William Blackwell of this city. Mrs Olive Oler of Shelley, Idaho, spent the week visiting with her mother, Mrs. Adeline Nelson and other relatives and friends here. Sunday these two and Mrs. Leone Told visited with Mrs. EIRoy Nelson at WUdwood in Provo canyon. Mr and Mrs. Millen Radmall and Mr and Mrs. Howard Warnick returned re-turned Friday from a most enjoyable enjoy-able trip through Idaho, Oregon, Washington and down the coast to San Francisco. They visited many interesting places and also visited with Mrs. Radmall's brothers, Bern Gamett at Carvallis, Oregon, and Arch Bezzant at Albany, Oregon. Twenty-eight officers and teachers teach-ers of the Windsor ward Sunday School and their partners enjoyed a hamburger fry at the Heiselt place in Provo canyon Tuesday evening. All report a very delightful evening. The men did the cooking at the camp fire and gallantly served their ladies. Dr and Mrs. E. A. Pearson returned return-ed Sunday from a three week trio to San Francisco and other coast cities. Mrs. Clara West, sister of: D r Pearson, and his mother, Mrs. A. C. Pearson, accompanied them on the trip. The Misses FayTand Fern Ross of Fargo, North Dakota, are spending spend-ing the week with Miss Mariam Adamson. The girls are cousins of the Adamsons. They are oeing entertained by friend. wMe here and also spent part of the week w th the Third ward M I. A. group at Mutual Dell. Miss Francis Hilton Hil-ton entertained at a slumber party and canyon trip in their honor Wednesday night and Thursday. |
