Show Ten Years Ago Now (Taken from files of Aug. 20, 1927) At the regular meeting of the city council held August 15, 1927, Mayor Newman presented findings of the state chemist in tests made on the water from the springs to be added to the Pleasant Grove waterworks. These tests showed that the water is very good quality. Mr. Newman aiso reported meeting with the State Health Engineer and checking up the water supply. Mr. Newman stated that the health engineer was very pleased with the improvements being made and of the quality of the water, not only to be added, but also the water now in the system. Complete chemical analysis from the state chemist was filed. Ten Years Ago Now The three Pleasant Grove camps of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers Pio-neers will entertain in honor of all pioneers now living in this city at the tabernacle Tuesday afternoon, August 23rd, at 2 o'clock. Ten Years Ago Now Last Saturday night, about 12 o'clock a large stack of hay contain- ing about 60 tons caugnt lire near Saratoga resort through combusion, having been put up too green. A call for help was sent to Mayor F. B. Newman, who sent our fire department de-partment to the scene to aid in extinguishing ex-tinguishing it. The boys worked hard until 5 a. m. and finally got the fire under control. Another large stack nearby containing about 40 tons was saved. Ten Years Ago Now Glade Linebaugh and Eldon Brin-ley Brin-ley have been in Salt Lake most of this week attending the Inter-Mountain Inter-Mountain Junior Tennis Tournament. Tourna-ment. They have won all games they have entered. The final game is being played as we go to press. |
