Show Mutual Work Opens In September The 1937-38 M. I. A. season will commence Tuesday, September 14. Announcement of the opening date was made by the M. I. A. stake presidency pres-idency to the executive officers of the wards at a meeting held Tuesday Tues-day night in the stake tithing office. of-fice. On Tuesday, September 21st the stake M. I. A. will hold a stake party. It was decided at the meeting that the stake would have charge of the September conjoint meeting on Sunday, Sun-day, September 5th. The conjoint for September will take the form cf a Sunset Rally. The meeting will be held on the high school grounds at 6:45 and an exceptionally fine speaker has been selected for the occasion. Music for the Sunset Rally Ral-ly will be provided by the American Fork high school orchestra. There will also be several special vocal numbers. A detailed program will be given in the next issue of the paper. The program of events for the coming year was given by Stake Superintendent C. A. Grant and will include a Ward Opening Social and a stake party in September; road shows in October; a musical event in November, probably an opera; the Christmas pageant in December; the Gold and Green Ball in January; the M. Men and Gleaner Girls Banquet Ban-quet in February; dramas and junior festival in March; the annual Fools Frolic in April; and the honor nights of both the wards and stake will be held in May. A list of the reading course books for the 1937-38 season was given by Mrs. West Hammond. The Adult and Senior class book is "Return to Religion"; the book for the Gleaners, "How to Win Friends and Influence People"; Juniors, "North I to the Orient." |
