Show Cavemen, Lincoln To Meet Today In Gridiron Opener The American Fork high school football crew will swing into action today against Lincoln high, at Lincoln, Lin-coln, for their first divisional grid fray. Although boasting only one all-season all-season veteran and one part-season veteran of last year, the Cavemen nevertheless have some top material mater-ial to work into a teajn. Don Par-duhn, Par-duhn, who played good football last year, will be at th fullback position posi-tion in the opening game. Melvin I Anderson, who played the last two league games last year, will be at left halfback. In the new set-up the four Alpine district dis-trict schools are placed in one group, with Provo and the three Nebo school district's schools in a second division. The northern schools of Lehi, American Fork, Pleasant Grove and Lincoln play each other once yearly, year-ly, while the southern group, Pay-son, Pay-son, Spanish Fork, Springville and Provo also play each other once. Each team will also play three teams from the opposing groups once annually, making a total of six conference games. This year Lehi drops Provo, Pay-son Pay-son drops Lincoln, American Fork misses Springville, while Spanish 'Fork and Pleasant Grove must wait until next year to tangle. Provo, if winning or tying for the state championship, will go into the state play-off for class A title, while if they fail to hold a first spot in the region they are eliminated. If any of the other seven teams gets an undisputed first place it also goes into the "A" play-offs and the second place team in the "B" playoffs. play-offs.
