Show The annual opening dance will be held in the high school gymnasium on Friday, September 23. The student stu-dent body officers are in charge. To gain experience in giving clear discussions, some very interesting demonstrations were given by the P. G. advanced speech class last Tuesday. Tues-day. Any one glancing into the speech room might have mistaken it for a class in foods. The majority of students demonstrated how to make or decorate their favorite cake, cookies cook-ies or candy. They chose doing this, because of a gentle, hint dropped by Miss Henderson, the instructor, that a sample of the finished product might bring that much desired A. Besides consuming the results of some demonstrations, the class was shown how to bottle peaches, how to make a soldier's uniform, and the idea for a very entertaining party was outlined in detail. The class then went outside for a demonstration demonstra-tion on how to take snap-shots. Several students who have completed com-pleted their technical development in typing are trying to qualify in the fifty-word class for secretarial assignments. Several have passed short tests above sixty words and are working to accomplish ten-minute tests. Text books arrived Monday Mon-day for shorthand class, and students stu-dents are now trying to figure the meaning of the hooks and curves. VIKING SAGA. . .
