Grant Ingersoll, recently appointed a member of the council to fill a vacancy, as required under the city ordinance, was presented pre-sented and approved, signed by the mayor, and ordered filed. The reports of the city officers with the exception of the treasurer ( and recorder for the month of Sep- i tember were read and approved and 1 the accompanying as well as addi-ticnal addi-ticnal bills were allowed. - Report was made that the city sexton had followed the collection on cemetery lots closely and had been very successful. The fall clean up of the cemetery was authorized the work to not exceed a cost of $50 to the city. The repair of the bridge over tne old creek, on Second South street, was reported and the recommendation recommenda-tion made that a coating of tar be applied to prolong the life of the bridge This matter was referred to Councilman Nicholes and the street committee, with power to act. Vern Boley appeared before the council with a request for the privilege privi-lege of remaining open on dance nights. Mr. Boley stated he was willing to close the pool hall as required re-quired by the city ordinance, but felt he should be granted the same rights as his competitors with respect to his refreshment license.
