Show City Grants Second Billiard Hall License I An application for the right to ; open and operate a billiard hall in i this city was presented by Lenard ' H. Jackson to the city council at. the regular session last Saturday; night. The billard room, 'according ! to the application, is to be located in the M. C. Robinson premises on; West Main street. Mr. Jackson in submitting the request stated he did not intend to sell beer or any other commodity. Marshal Birk reported having in-1 vestigaled proposed location and had been assurred by the applicant that all requirements would be met. After due consideration the council unanimously un-animously granted Mr. Jackson's application. Fire Chief I. L. Pratt met with the council asking that consideration be given towards the passage of an ordinance which would definitely prohibit the parking of cars or other I vehicles in front of the station. City Marshal Birk assurred Mr. Pratt that such an ordinance was not necessary but that sufficient authority author-ity was now given under the law to govern such a situation. It was decided de-cided however that "No Parking" signs should be installed immediately immediate-ly in front of the fire station to warn the public of . this requirement. Information was received from the Utah County and State Emergency Relief Committee that the Street Improvement project in the amount of $3205.60 and tire project covering the consideration of the sidewalks in the amount of $3340.80 had been ap-I ap-I proved and that work on the same could be commenced upon payment of $112.20 and $116.93 covering the required state industrial insurance. The recorder therefore was instructed instruct-ed to issue a warrant in the amount of $229.13 in compliance with the state requirement.
