Show 1 Ten Years Ago it Now i (Taken from files of Sept. 27, 1924) Foremost among the improvements improve-ments at the Central School this year is the installation of a new Sectric signal system, the one clock controlling the day's program of time, and the ringing of all hull and yard gongs. Ten Years Ago Now The Lincion Second ward entertained enter-tained Friday in honor of Bishop Charles G. Johnson, who recently was released as bishop of the ward. Ten Years Ago Now Last Tuesday night Reed Warnick narrowly escaped injury. He was driving his Ford car and upon approaching ap-proaching the Manila station on the Orem line he saw an Orem car in time to apply the brakes and stop the car sufficiently to make a hasty exit. The front of the car was damaged. Ten Years Ago Now Monday morning presented an encouraging en-couraging scene at the Central School. At nine o'clock 402 pupils appeared for registration. This was a record ior registration. Ten Years Ago Now The liveitock judging team, L. P. Harvey, Harold Walker and Glen Mathews of this city, sent by the local Farm Bureau to the county fail- at Provo, won the silver loving cup for judging. Glen Mathews also won flirt prize on Idaho Rural potatoes. pota-toes. Ten Years Ago Now George W. Larson was elected president of the Alpine teachers association at the annual election held last Thursday. Miss Estella Fenton was elected vice-president. |
