Webb and two sons of Salt Lake City visited rela- i lives and friends in American Fork , Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Shafter of Bingham visited Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence A. Grant. Mr. and Mrs. Elgen Lee, and Lela and Ralph Lee spent Sunday in South Jordan at the home of Mr. and Mrs. A. R. Beckstead, it being the birthday anniversary of Mrs. Lee's father. Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Jacklin and children were guests at a catfish cat-fish supper at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Elgen Lee, Thursday. Clarence A. Grant, Utah county clerk, attended a two-day demonstration demon-stration of Landes equipment, at which the Landes company was host, at Salt Lake City on Thursday and Friday of last week. County officials from over the state were guests of the company for the two days. Mrs. Clifford E. Young entertained entertain-ed in honor of Mrs. Mark Bezzant of Ventura, California, at a buffet supper at the Young home Saturday evening. Twenty-six guests were in attendance. Mrs. Bezzant departed for the Coast on Monday, after a two weeks' visit in American Fork. During her stay here she was a guest of Mr. and Mrs. Young. Miss Kathryn Christensen, student at Brigham Young university, read a three-act play, "The Famous Mrs. Farr", as a feature of the Junior Literary league meeting Monday evening. The meeting was held at the home of Miss Liliie Shafter, with Miss Shafter and Mrs. Florence Chipman as hostesses. Selections were given by a trio from Pleasant Grove, Miss Virginia Jacobs, Miss Marilyn Richards and Miss Beth Meeks. Twenty-seven club members were in attendance. Mrs. Leo G. Meredith, president of the Alpine council of the Parent-Teachers' Parent-Teachers' association, attended the visiting day exercises at the Sharon school Friday. The exercises, conducted con-ducted by the local P.-T. A. unit, featured a dancing demonstration in the morning, visits to the classrooms, class-rooms, and a meeting. Dr. A. C. Lambert and Principal A. P. War-nick War-nick were among the speakers at the meeting. At noon, Mrs. Meredith was a guest at the luncheon served by the P.-T. A. unit. All unit presidents presi-dents of the south part of the district dis-trict also were special guests. Glade Jorgenson of American Fork participated in a "talent tour" on Monday and Tuesday of this week, when the Public Service bureau of Brigham Young university univer-sity presented a. series of six variety programs, including a radio broadcast, broad-cast, in the southern part of the state. Leaving early Monday, the group presented programs at Juab high school at Nephi, Beaver high school, and a broadcast over station KSUB at Cedar City. Following the radio broadcast, the group provided a two hour's community program sponsored sponsor-ed by the Cedar City Lions' club. On their return trip on Tuesday, they appeared at Cedar junior high school in the morning and at Mount Pleasant high school in the afternoon. after-noon. 1 Mrs. Vern Holindrake entertained ' for a number of friends at a dinner 1 party Friday evening. A sewing 1 hour and social chat were enjoyed, after which the dinner was served. Covers were laid for eight. |
