Show Plans Take Shape For Celebration Of Fire Engine Approving a community celebration celebra-tion to mark the arrival of the new city fire truck early in April, the city council appropriated funds for the purpose at a meeting Monday night. Fire Chief Walter B. Devey will depart next week for Los Angeles, where he will receive the new truck at the factory. He will drive the machine back to American Pork. Preparations for the celebration are being made by the fire department depart-ment and the Junior Chamber of Commerce. H. E. Johnson, state adult education coordinator for this district, also is cooperating to carry the observance into the schools. Tentative plans for the festivities call for a public demonstration of the new fire truck, inspection by officials of the Utah State Firemen's Fire-men's association, and a banquet and dance, Fire Chief Devey reported report-ed to the council. Ernest Hindley Jr., O. DeVere Wootton and Gilbert J. Shumway comprise the Junior Chamber of Commerce committee on the celebration. |
