Show Mrs. William B. Hansen and Imts. Jesse Spafford spent Tuesday !af;ernoon in Provo visiting with Mrs. j Donald H. Stubbs. j Mr. and Mrs. Lorry Morton and I daughter, Edna Jean, have returned to Rock Springs, Wyoming, after spending the Thanksgiving holidays here with Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Hindley, parsnts of Mrs. Morton. The Ladies Literary Club met Thursday at the home of Mrs. Joseph Nicholes. Mrs. A. Chipman was the assisting hostess. Following Follow-ing the opening business session, Mrs. Jarvis Aydelotts read a one-act play, Mrs. B. N. Christensen gave a Christmas reading and Mrs. W. R. Halliday sang two numbers. A delicious de-licious lunch was served late in the afternoon, the guests numbered twenty-four. Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Kirkham and daughter, Rae Mona, of Mn-neapolis, Mn-neapolis, Minn., are here for a visit until after the holidays with Mrs. Kirkham's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Hindley Sr., and with Mr. Kirkham's relatives in Lehi. Mr. and Mrs. Alma Olsen and daughter, Lydia, were in Salt Lake Wednesday having received word early that morning of the operation on their daughter and sister, Mrs. Velma Batchelor, for appendicitis. Mrs. Batchelor is in the Holy Cross hospital and doing nicely. The Fourth ward Relief Society ladies, about fifty in number, enjoyed en-joyed their work and business meeting meet-ing Tuesday in the ward chapel. A short Christmas program was given following which a display of Christmas Christ-mas gifts easy to make was made. Eight members of the Fourth ward Relief Society met Wednesday night at the home of Mrs. Elsie Ashton and made a quilt. After the sewing was completed refreshments were served. This is the fifteenth quilt made by this organization during dur-ing the fall months. o Miss Edith Jacklin of American Fork will entertain Friday evening, December 8th at a shower at the ' Mrs. Rosa Grant returned Sunday from a visit during the Thanksgiving Thanksgiv-ing holidays with her son, John Grant and family of Levan. Miss Sarah Parker returned to Salt Lake Monday morning after spending spend-ing the week-end here with her father, Lafe Parker and family. ' Jonn jacklin home in honor of Miss Mae Thorne of Lindon, who will wed Miss Jacklin's brother, George Jacklin, in the Salt Lake temple, December De-cember 14th. William and Ammon Van Wagoner Wagon-er of Midway, were guests of Mrs. John Boulter Friday. Warren Kirk a student of the U spent the week-end with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. S. A. Kirk. Mrs. Pierpont and family, Mr. and Mrs. James Wright and family of Salt Lake, Mrs. Letitia Long and family, Mr. and Mrs. John Wright and Mr. and Mrs. Ben Wright of American Fork were among the out-of-town people who attended the funeral fun-eral of Margaret Wright Wednesday. Wednes-day. The five Elders Quorums of the Timpanogos stake and their partners part-ners enjoyed a banquet and ball at the Second ward chapel Wednesday evening. The annual election was held, whic-resulted whic-resulted in the re-election of all officers offi-cers as follows: Chief, J. Kemp; assistant chiefs, Cris and Hans Williamson; Will-iamson; Ike Hayes,- Secretary, and Ray Prampton, assistant secretary. Mr. and Mrs. J. Sanford Walker and son, Bernard, Mrs. La Rue Smith and son, LeJ&oy, were guests Sunday of Mr. and' Mrs Va.ncp Order Flowers now for Christmas. Mrs. Rulon Williams is at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Miller, with a winsome baby girl, bom Wednesday. Mother and baby are doing nicely. Margaret Stagg returned to her work at the U Monday after several days visit with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Stagg. Miss Susan Armitstead who is employed in Salt Lake spent the Thanksgiving Holidays with her parents, par-ents, Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Armitstead. |
