Show COACH SELECTS BASKETBALL SQUAD Coach H. S. Richards has been busy the past month selecting the basketball squad for the coming season. The class series is going forward. This will give Coach Richards Rich-ards and athletic advisors a chance to see the best timber of the school in action. The boys who played on last year's team and are available for this year's squad are Alva Jen-son, Jen-son, Wesley Keetch, Wilfred Hooley, Rex Gourley and Arlan Steiner. Other boys who have a chance to be selected for the coming season's games are: Dean and R.eed Smith, Deral 'and Dean Walker, Verl War-burton, War-burton, Lauritz Peterson, Carl Low-ler Low-ler and Elroy Hanson. All the boys are working hard to make the team. The pre-season games to be played play-ed in Pleasant Grove are with Pay-son, Pay-son, December 13; Cyprus, December 22; Spanish Fork, December 29. Return games will be played in each of the places named above. F. S. Humphries of Provo was was visiting with friends in Pleasant Pleas-ant Grove Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Karl Banks enjoyed Thanksgiving dinner with Mr. Banks' sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Cordner and family of Orem. W. E. Boyden of Salt Lake, has accepted a position as pharmist in the Thornton Drug store. Airs. R. G. Weeks entertained Wednesday Wed-nesday evening at a shower in honor hon-or of the recent marraige of her daughter, Edna, and Eugene Atkinson. Atkin-son. The evening was spent in miscellaneous mis-cellaneous games and social chat. Dainty refreshments were served. About twenty-five guests were present. pres-ent. Many beautiful gifts were received re-ceived by the bride. The Primary officers and teachers teach-ers of the Lindon ward will entertain enter-tain Monday evening, December 11, at the home of Mrs. Dorthy Harris in honor of Mae Thorne. Miss Thome has been secretary for several sev-eral years and at the present time She is counselor in the organization. Mrs. J. C. Gillman will leave Thursday for Huntington Park, California, Cal-ifornia, where she will visit six weeks with her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Haskell Pomroy. |
