Show COUNTY WORKERS TALK ! ON QUILT MAKING j A meeting under the direction of the Timpanogos Stake Relief So- ciety was held Tuesday afternoon in the Pioneer cabin in the city park, with stake president Ella M. Cragun in charge. Talks on quilts, quilt making and exhibits of Relief Society sewing were given by ETfie Barrows of the U. S. A. C. extension division and Miss Pederson, Utah county demonstrator. demon-strator. They explained how quilts should be displayed, the right way of washing, plain quilting, fancy quilting, etc. Different kinds of rugs and fancy work were discussed, and how to display them at the coming Relief Society Art Display. The stake board and the presidents presi-dents of each ward of the stake and the sewing committee were in attendance at-tendance at the meeting. The matter of classifying the articles ar-ticles for judging purposes was discussed dis-cussed and also the points to be judged upon. Utah county has always al-ways prided thehmsclves on having fine quilters, and women who could do fine needle work. The purpose of this meeting was to explain s matters of vital importance why Utah county people could not bring home more of the quilt display prizes. |
