On City FERA j Projects Report was made at the regular Lncil meeting last Saturday night feat the approval of the state Emergency Emer-gency Rlief committee had been Wived on three work division pro-Lcts pro-Lcts for American Fork. The notice !ame from the office of the County , Emergency Relief Administration uid the projects approved follow: Cemetery Improvements, $1029 PER A funds approved. Waterworks Addition, $538.00 FERA Junds approved. Better Home Management, $390.00 pERA funds approved. ! Recorder Barratt reported a statement state-ment covering local eexpenditures i'or FERA projects in this community communi-ty had been forwarded to the county rffice as per their requirements for May. According to information received ;rom the State Road Commission a Sidewalk near the east end of Main Street at the new turn will be constructed con-structed in the near future, to lessen jhe traffic hazards both for pedes-trains pedes-trains and automobile drivers. I J. Calvin Croft, proprietor of the Npw Amoco Service Station appear- d before the council with a request hat the city exert its influence with the State Road Commission to have the repairs on the east turn of the State highway completed as soon as possible. Mr. Croft also called the Attention of the city officials to the lfact that in the construction of their 1'oew station every dollar that was Used on the same either in labor or material was spent in this community communi-ty and he therefore felt his station "Vas entitled to a share of the city's business. The various city officers '-irere instructed to divide the city's as business among the different Jealers, where the prices were found to' be the same. i Discussion again arose with re-'spect re-'spect to the law books which were reported as not always being available avail-able to the city officers. The mar- J3hal was instructed to have the law books placed in the council room! where access could be had by any city officer at any time. I Complaints were received relative to the dangerous condition of the foot bridge across the old creek bed riear the James T. Gardner property. The weedy condition of the library (property also was reported. The street superintendent was instructed Ito have both conditions improved immediately. A request for the 'extension" of -water mains that service might be extended 'to the Hayden Holindrake 'property was reported. No definite Information was available through ' which the outlay necessary and the probable receipts possible could be determined and the matter was referred re-ferred to the water committee for Investigation. In the matter of the installation of a fire hydrant on the extreme west end of the new water .extension on the west state road was discussed at length and this matter f was aro referred to the water com-imittee com-imittee for investigation. : The better regulation of the flow of water in the drinking fountains v'throughout.. the city together with j the cleaning of the loose gravel from j tlle intersections were referred to the street and water supervisor with . power to act. The city marshal was given in-, in-, structions to rigidly enforce the license and dog tax ordinance. |
