Show I FERA Project Outlined For three days the past week twenty men have been at work on the city water works project cn the mountain side. The cleaning out and developing of the Hangman spring has increased that flew of i water 50 per cent. The other springs are to be cleaned so that every b.t j of water can be put into the system. Mayor W. W. Lim announces that' the supply is holding up well but there are still two months of warm weather. It is his desire that there will be plenty of water for culinary purposes, for flowers and lawns. : j Other projects outlined are grad-i grad-i ing and graveling the road from the northeast corner of the cemetery to, the Bishop B. H. Adams home and : the cleaning up of the road north of j the Manila ward chapel toward the ' I American Fork boundary line. This j latter work has been under the direc-, direc-, tion of Ezra Swenson, county road : ; supervisor. The road from the i William Stagg home to the home of Mrs. Marie Smith has received some . attention. The completion of the road from the Farmer's Exchange ' south one block and east to the State highway is underway. The committee is still investigating investigat-ing the possibility of building two! tennis courts and an open dance ' floor at the city park on this FERA project work. It is very worth while to beautify our city, to conserve water wa-ter supply and to help in supplying equipment for the use of our boys and girls in their leisure hours. The city officials are anxious to do all they can without plunging the city too much in debt, to aid in supplying supply-ing work for FERA labor on projects that are worth while. n |
