Show Timpanogos Stake Officers Enjoy Banquet and Social On Monday evening, December 2, three hundred and fifty Timpanogos i stake officers and their partners enjoyed en-joyed a banquet and social at the high school. Tables were set in the new Auto Mechanic shop and proved sufficient to serve all guests at the same time Bright red Jonathan apples and attractive at-tractive bouquets of sweet peas deco rated the tables. Beautiful potted plants and colored floor lamps made a beautiful setting for this reunion of officers. The special guests of the occasion were: President L. Chip-man Chip-man and wife, President A. J. Evans and wife and Mrs. James H. Clarke of the old Alpine Stake Presidency, also the present Presidency of the Lehi and Alpine Stakes and their wives. The Timpanogos Stake Presidency and High Council and wives formed the Reception committee. The Stake Relief Society board took charge of the banquet with thirty M. I. A. girls to serve the dinner. The M. I. A. stake officers had charge of the entertaining en-tertaining features. The Primary officers assisted in the table setting. The Old Folks committee took care of and provided all dishes- Priesthood quorums assisted with the tables and rendered other service. Every officer assisted in some way to make the social so successful. Bishop S. Li. Swenson acted as toastmaster at the banquet table. H. V. Swenson gave a toast "Blowing your own Horn" and other toasts were as follows: H. W. Jacobs, "Frozen Sweets"; Bishop A. H. Lowe, "Hitting "Hit-ting the High: Spots"; Lyean Johnson, John-son, "Let Not Your Right Ear Know What Your Left Ear Heareth" and Bishop F! D. Atwood, "It Pays to Advertise". Short talks were given by President S. L. Chipman, President Presi-dent Abel !J- Evans, President Carlos Sciow and President Clifford E. Young. . Community singing was led by Elroy El-roy R.. West. At the close of the banquet the remainder of the evening was spent in dancing in tie Higi School Gy?n. |
