Show Future Recreation Recrea-tion Program to be Outlined Our children are the embodiment of the future of the race. What we do to them determines our own future. fu-ture. Our conditions of life have changed markedly during the past fifty years. The wonderful progress, the boasted organization of our civilization, has been an organization organiza-tion for grownups and has left the child out of the calculations of their elders, until now. We have organized in our city a recreation committee to help you solve your child's recreation problems. prob-lems. Every child needs supervised recreation and parents seldom have the time or no not take the time, to direct their child's play. Mothers! if your daughter wants you to help her make a doll dress or draw a picture do you stop your .work and help her, or do you say, "don't bother me just now, I'll help you some other time"? Father! do you have time to play with your sons, help them build airplanes, air-planes, wagons, etc., or are you just too busy? Our neighboring communities are availing themselves of a worthwhile recreational program which is meeting meet-ing the leisure time needs of the children of the community and the results are very worth while. Our community might enlarge the recreational program that has been carried out this summer at the City Park and the High School grounds. A meeting has been called of representatives rep-resentatives of Church and Civic organizations to select a committee to formulate plans for our future recreational program. Mr. Ernest Clayton, coordinator of the Alpine School District, is in charge of this meeting. Representatives of the State Department of Recreation will be present. For the present our recreational center is established at the City Hall grounds and is held each afternoon after-noon at 3 o'clock except on Saturday Satur-day and Sunday. o |
