Sarah Parker and Clyde Crookston returned home Thursday after a two months trip through England and various other European Euro-pean countries. Mr. and Mrs. John Gough and daughter Dora, of Buhl, Idaho, have been visiting the past week at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Lot Robinson. Robin-son. Mrs. Gough is Mr. Robinson's sister. Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Robinson left Thursday for a week's trip through Yellowstone National Park. Pratt were Mr. and Mrs. Weston Pratt, Mr. and Mrs. Max Pratt of Salt Lake City, Mr. and Mrs. Karl Pratt and Mr. and Mrs. George Brown of Murray, Mr. and Mrs. Myron Briggs, and their families and Harold and Almeada Pratt. About 32 girls, members of the local 4-II clubs left Tuesday morning morn-ing for a five day trip through Yellowstone Yel-lowstone Park. Mrs. Alvin Monson, district leader, Mrs. Marion Greene, ! Adamson and Mr. and Mrs. James Tattersoll attended at-tended the State Municipal League convention at Price Thursday, Friday Fri-day and Saturday. There were over five hundred delegates at the convention. con-vention. This is the largest group ever to attend the sessions of the league. Special entertainments as well as the regular convention meetings meet-ings were provided for the delegates. The mayor of Portland, Oregon, Governor Blood and several other nationally known speakers were present. Ogden was chosen by the delegates as the meeting place of the 1938 convention. Dr. and Mrs. James Chadwick and Mr. and Mrs. Earl Chadwick returned return-ed home Wednesday from a week's trip to Yellowstone Park. They went on up through the park to Lovell, Wyoming, whe! they visited with Mrs. Earl Chadwick's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Brown. Mr. and Mrs. J. Boyd Page of Columbia, Missouri, are visiting for a few weeks with their parents, President and Mrs. Clifford E. Young and Mrs. Clara Page of Pay-son. Pay-son. They will make their home the coming year in Columbus, Ohio, where Mr. Page will continue his work on. his Doctor's degree in physical chemistry. Morrell Ashby of New York, son of Mr. and Mrs. B. L. Ashby, arrived ar-rived here Monday for an extended visit with his parents. Mr. and Mrs. Roland Sabey and Mr. and Mrs. Moral D. Steele attended at-tended funeral services in Spanish Fork Sunday for Mrs. Helen Jarvis Pratt of McGilL Nevada. Mr. and Mrs. Roland Sabey and Mrs. M. D. Steele visited with Mrs. F. Wilburg in Salt Lake City Monday. Mon-day. Mrs. Fern VonAwken of Los Angeles An-geles and Mrs. Lyde Dean of Garfield, Gar-field, were Tuesday visitors at the M. D. Miss Pern Robinson, who has been visiting the past ten days in Afton, Wyoming, returned home Thursday. Miss June Holmstead, Idonna Miller, Mrs. Lillie Walker, Rose Miller and Selma Seastrand returned return-ed home Sunday from a week's visit in Yellowstone Park. The girls also visited the Grand Teton National Park. Mrs. Gerald Burr and her daughter, daugh-ter, Geraldine, spent the last two weeks in Provo visiting with her parents. Mr. and Mrs. Llewellen Pratt and children, Keith and Norma Dawn, returned to their home in Los Angeles Ange-les Thursday morning after having spent the past two weeks here visiting visit-ing with Mr. and Mrs. Irving L. Pratt. Miss Delia Robinson, who is employed em-ployed at the Utah Poultry Producers Produc-ers plant in American Fork is having hav-ing her vacation this week. She is visiting in Salt Laxe City with Miss Helen Hogason. Tuesday evening Mr. and Mrs. Owen Humphries and Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Singleton motored to Black Rock, where they joined a group of friends in swimming. After the swim a delicious lunch was served. Mrs. Marcella Hawkins returned home Monday from Salt Lake City where she has spent the past month attending the TJ. of TJ. where special classes in Home Economics, Psychology Psy-chology and Art were given for adult education teachers. Mrs. V. F. Houston entertained Tuesday at a party in honor of her daughter, Joyce, whose 10th birthday birth-day it was. The little guests included: in-cluded: Kay Walton, Dick and and Robert Scott, Mary Lou Devey, Ruth Bird, Jay Greene, Kay Hol-strom, Hol-strom, Jeanne and Stephen Baird, Jewel Chipman and Dick Wilde. The afternoon was spent playing Lotto, prizes being won by Stephen Baird and Joy Greene. Luncheon, which included a delicious birthday , cake, was served late in the afternoon. after-noon. Miss Irene Johnston has just re-: re-: turned from Hollywood, California, where she has been studying dancing danc-ing at the Perry Studio, under the : direction of Lester Schaefer and al-: al-: so at the Tamon Studio in Los , Angeles, under the direction of Miss Dorothy Lyndall. Both of these ' teachers are considered among the best modern dance instructors in , the west. Miss Helen Johnston, sister of Irene, is studying tap dancing danc-ing at the Fleigal and Armstrong Theatrical School of Dancing in Salt Lake. Both girls intend to continue their school of dancing during the coming year here in American Fork. Their classes will continue to convene Saturday in the I Legion Hall. |
