Show Loved Mother Honored Mrs. Rose B. Hayes, beloved by many, was honored at a family gathering held at the Grove in Pleasant Grove on Sunday, August 22nd. Since her birthday comes in the winter when it is difficult to get together, her children took this opportunity to show her uie love and honor in which she is held by them. The crowd met at 2 p. m. and enjoyed en-joyed an impromptu program. Mrs. Hayes also read a sketch of her life, after which a delicious luncheon lunch-eon was served and a general social visit enjoyed. Those present were: Dr. and Mrs. John Z. Brown and family, Mrs. Lydia B. Lund, LeGrande Lund, Mr. and Mrs. B. R. Pingree and family, Rose and Ross Bartlett, Mr. and Mrs. Junius J. Hayes and Mr. and Mrs. Claude E. Hayes and family all of Salt Lake; Mr. and Mrs. Will Cooper, Magna; Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Richards, Mr. and Mrs. Less Thea-bold, Thea-bold, Mr. and Mrs. S. A. Kirk and family of Pleasant Grove, and Mrs. Annie Holman, Mrs. Mat C. Strong and Mrs. Christina Walker, girlhood girl-hood friends of the honored guest. A beautiful radio and two lovely utility lamps were presented to her. Mrs. Hayes is greatly appreciative of her friends ana family. She has always been active in useful accomplishments accom-plishments and has done a great deal in preserving the historic data of the community. She has been tireless in her duties in connection with the Daughters of Utah Pioneers Pio-neers and was tithing clerk for a great number of years. All good wishes for many more years of usefulness use-fulness are extended to her. |
