Show Timpanogos Dairy Team Goes To Kansas City The Timpanogos chapter of Future Fu-ture Farmers of the Pleasant Grove high school returned Wednesday from the Utah State F. F. A. convention con-vention and judging contest held at the U. S. A. C. at Logan. Eleven boys and their advisor, Joseph F. Day, made the trip. Each boy entered in one contest as follows: fol-lows: Dairy Richard Swenson, Jean Harvey and Jim "Macfarlane. Livestock John Fugal, Boyd Fugal and Milton Johnson. Poultry Glen Nielsen, Bill Told. Crops Russell Nielsen, Don Hilton and William West. The delegates to represent the chapter were, Russell Nielsen, president; and Jim Macfarlane, secretary. The dairy team won first honors and earned the reward to go to Kansas City to compete in the National Na-tional contest at the Kansas City Royal Livestock Show in October. Jim Macfarlane was high point individual in dairy judging among a possible 300 judges, and won a medal for this fete. He also won a very valuable pure bred guernsey bull calf, awarded by Dr. Daynes of Logan. Gordon Wright won honors as the outstanding judge from all over the state. Much credit for this fine work of the team goes to Advisor Day for his interest in the boys and his splendid splen-did work with them. Jim Macfarlane, Jean Harvey and Richard Swenson also won a plaque for the high school in connection with their trip. o ' |
