Show J. H. Chadwick Dies Suddenly James H. Chadwick, 57, died very suddenly Monday night about 10:30, while attending the married folks dance at the Apollo Hall. Mr. Chadwick Chad-wick had enjoyed several dances and appeared to be in the best of health and spirits. He was standing stand-ing in the south end of the hall near the dressing room when he suddenly slumped to the floor without with-out an outcry- Men nearby placed him upon one of the benches and I then carried him outside thinking :he had suffered a fainting spell. I Dr- G- S- Richards was summoned and arrived at the hall within a few minutes, pronouncing Mr. Chadwick Chad-wick dead. Death was apparently due to a. heart attack. James Henry Chadwick was born May IS. 1S77. in American Fork, son of William and Catherin Armstrong Arm-strong Chadwick. He spent practically prac-tically his entire life here. He farmed farm-ed for a number of years and also followed the trade of butcher for j years. On October 15, 1901, he married i Miss Elsie Sager of this city and to j them six children were born, two , of whom have died- Mrs. Chadwick died during the influenza epidemic, February 6, 1920- Surviving are three sons, Carl Chadwick, San Jose, California; Nel-don Nel-don Chadwick, Bingham; Gilbert and Miss Vera Chadwick of this city. He is survived also by six sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Coddington, Mrs. Ada Baker, Mrs. Lydia Larsen, and Mrs. May Laurse.n of this city; Mrs. Grace Jensen, Salt Lake City, and Mrs. Cady Lyons of San Francisco, Calif.; and by three brothers, William J. Chadwick and Glen Chadwick of American Fork, and Abe Chadwick of Seattle, Washington; also by five grandchildren. Funeral services will be held today to-day (Friday) at 2 p. m. in the First ward chapel. |
