Show Library Enjoys Extensive Use Of Books The total circulation of books, issued from the American Fork public pub-lic library for the year just closed, amounted to 20,642 volumes. Of this number 10,550 were issued to adults and 10,092 were issued to children according to the annual report of the librarian, Mrs. Lyle N. Grant. The library board has labored under un-der a handicap this year in that upwards up-wards of four hundred dollars of the revenue went for a new furnace and stoker of which the building stood in great need. The expenditure for new books was necessarily curtailed to a great extent. However during the past year a number of generous citizens have presented books to the library so that in all between purchase pur-chase and gift 343 books were added to the library. During the year 91 volumes w:cre withdrawn, being beyond be-yond repair or were lost by patrons. The total number of volumes on hand at the end of the year was 6333, and the average circulation per day was 63.1 books. n |
