Show The Pleasant Grove Library board expresses thankfulness for $10.00 donated to the library for the purchase pur-chase of books by the Pleasant Grove Chamber of Commerce. I Mrs. Pearl Adams accompanied her daughter, Ruby Louise and Arnold Arn-old Clyde Olson, to the Salt Lake temple Monday, and witnessed their marriage ceremony. Miss Jennie Burch gave a shower at her apartment in Provo Friday evening in honor of Miss Phyllis Hilton, Hil-ton, a bride of early May. Those present at the shower were Margaret Mar-garet Lee, Gene Richins, Edna Christiansen Chris-tiansen Gourley, Edith Preston, Norma Nor-ma Terry, and the honored guest and hostess. Russell Nielson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Nielson, received favor- ' able mention - at the Utah State High School track competition Saturday at the University stadium. He assisted Pleasant Grove in winning win-ning three firsts in tlie day's events. These athletes will have a chance to compete in the state track meet to be held Saturday, May 9, in the B. Y. U. stadium at Provo. Among those from Pleasant Grove who attended the funeral of Hannah Swenson Blanc at Murray Tuesday were: Mr. and Mrs. Reed Peterson, Mrs.. L. N. Peterson, Virgil Peterson', Mrs. Roy Swenson, Mrs. Martha Peterson, Mr. and Mrs. M. S. Christiansen, Chris-tiansen, Mrs. Anna Johnson, Mrs. Wilfred Anderson, Mrs. Dahlia Walker, Mrs. Emma Swenson, Mrs. Bengta Hanson and Mrs. Reva W. Fugal. Also Miss Audrey Harirs of Provo. Mrs. Blanc was buried in the Pleasant Grove cemetery. REPUBLICANS SELECTS DELEGATES DELE-GATES FOR CONVENTION At a meeting held Saturday evening eve-ning in the City Hall, the following delegates were selected for the state convention to be held in Ogden May 2. Delegates W. W. Warnick, Mary Cooper, J. A. West, Jesse Thome and Donald Wright. Alternates C. L. Wright, W. W. Lim, S. A. Kirk and-Joseph D Wad ley. County Chairman E. M. Rowe, of Provo, was present at the meeting and talked to the delegates. City Chairman Donald Wright was in charge of the meeting. |
