Show Stake Names New Y. M. M. I. A. Counselor Roy Greenwood, for the past thirteen years president of the First ward Y. M. M. I. A., was elected by the stake officers to fill the office of second counselor of Stoke Supt. Junius West in the Alpine stake Y. M. M. I. A. The vacancy was created creat-ed when the suporintendency was re-organised following: the release of L. B. Adamson as stake superintendent, superin-tendent, Mr. West, was at that time selected as stake head of the organization organi-zation with Clarence Grant retained as first, counselor. Mr. Greenwood has been a faithful faith-ful worker in the M. I. A. for many years, and the honor bestowed upon him is most deserved. His successor in the First ward M. I. A. has not been announced. Mr. Greenwood was officially introduced in-troduced in his new capacity Monday Mon-day night at the stake union meeting meet-ing of the M. I. A. where he expressed express-ed his willingness and pleasure in the new duties. The preliminary program of the meeting was furnished furnish-ed by the Alpine ward and consisted of two songs by the Bee Hive girls under the direction of Miss Doris Forbes. Mrs. W. R. Halliday, stake Y. L. M. I. presidency was in charge. Plans are being made by the stake officers and leaders of the Junior classes of the Y. L. M. I. A. of this stake, for a Junior Festival to be held March 21st in the tabernacle basement. According to tentative arrangements made Monday night, the festival will include a program and lunch and other social 'activities. The mothers of the girls are to bo included in the guests. The program will portray the various var-ious stages of the life of a girl: Childhood, Youth, Motherhood and Age, each stage to be depicted by the various wards. Each ward will be responsible for their own lunch, I which all will enjoy together. Further Fur-ther details concerning the Festival will be announced later. n |
