Show Lehi High Wins Decisive Game The American Fork High School basketball team was decisively defeated de-feated Wednesday evening by Lehi on the local floor with a score of 52 to 35. The largest crowd of the season witnessed the game which developed into a one sided contest with Lehi playing "over their heads" and the Cavemen fighting hard but lacking the brilliant style displayed against the B. Y. High here Friday. The Cavemen started with a bang. They snapped in the first field goal but Lehi caught a stride, too fast for the locals and displayed an uncanny un-canny knack for basket shooting. They scored from every angle and it seemed they could not miss the hoop. The first quarter closed 14-9; the half 25-15; the third quarter 41-23, and the final score was 52-35. Wins From B. Y. High. In the game against the B. Y. High here Friday the locals won a hard fought game after an extra period. They played stellar ball against the fast B. Y. High team, out passing them and out shooting them. The first quarter closed 10-7 for B. Y.; the half 19-19; the third quarter 29-28 for B. Y., and the final whistle caught the locals one point short of a 34-34 tie with a foul called on Durrant's opponent just at the whistle." Durrant made the point count in spite of the tense situation he was called to face and tied the score. In the extra period he was able to score a field goal bringing victory to his team and school. |
