Show Pleasant Grove Locals j Mrs- Wesley Jensc and baby spent several clays the past week visiting with Salt Lake relatives. Joseph H. Rcbison was called to Fillmore last Saturday on account of the serious illness of his mother. Mr- and Mrs. Verl Kirk were dinner din-ner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Bert Lowder Sunday- j Mrs. Bernard Welch of American Pork was the guest Wednesday of her mother, Airs. George Harris. Charles E. Thome returned home Wednesday evening for a week's trip to California. Mrs. Rebecca Wilson of Lehi visited vis-ited Sunday with her daughter and scn-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Preston Shoell. Ervine R. Smith was in charge of Miss Estelle Fenton's classes Monday Mon-day at the high school. Miss Fen-ton Fen-ton was ill. Mr. and Mrs. Roosevelt Smith and baby of Lelii were guests Sunday of Mrs. Smith's parents, Mr. and Mrs. George H. Shoell. Mrs. Annie Hillman, who has been seriously ill, is reported to be slowly slow-ly improving in health. Leo Oler of Shelley, Idaho, is visiting vis-iting indefinitely at the home of his grandmother, Mrs. Adeline Nelson. Nel-son. Mr. and Mrs. Ronda Williams moved to Provo last Wednesday where they will make their home. Mrs. Williams, before her marriage was Miss LaPriel Barney. Mr. and Mrs. Lyean Johnson have purchased the. home of Mrs. Whistler in the First ward and will move there in the near future. All concerned are doing nicely, j Mrs. Luella Richards Atkin of Long Beach, California, has been visiting the past week with her sisters, sis-ters, Mrs. J. L. Theobald and Mrs. Robert Walker, and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Richards. Miss Lula Keetch has been suffering suffer-ing the past week with hemmorage following a tonsil operation. Her mother, Mrs. Stanley Keetch, is recovering re-covering from inflamatory rheumatism. rheuma-tism. Bishop and Mrs. L. M. Atwood and sons, Grant and Dan, returned Sunday Sun-day from a trip to McGill, Nevada, where they went to visit with their daughter and sister, Marvel Atwood, who is employed in the schools there. Mr. and Mrs. Richard Walker, Mrs. , Chastina Walker and Mr. and Mrs. Vern Cullimore returned Monday evening from a week's trip to California. Manager C. L. Wright of the Pleasant Grove Canning Co., left Monday afternoon for Chicago. He will call on some of the customers of the institution and attend the National Na-tional Canners Convention. He expects ex-pects to be gone about three weeks. Mrs. Grant Y. Anderson was hos-I hos-I tess to the ladies of the Mother's Club Thursday ' afternoon. John Halliday gave a talk on the life of Robert Schumann and. gave several musical selections from Schumann's musical studies. Mrs. Lee Peterson was hostess at a dinner party to a group of friends January 2, who had been employed as clerks in the same business with Mrs. Peterson in Spanish Fork previous prev-ious to her marriage. The guests were Mr. and Mi's. Gerald Hawkins, Ireta Lewis, Fay Nielson and Ruby Hales. Mrs. Mary Olson entertained at a family dinner last Friday evening. The members of her family present were, Mr. and Mrs. R. D. Wadley, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Olson, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Olson and Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Smith of American Fork. Two life long friends of Mrs. Olson, Minnie Min-nie Anderson and Mrs. Anna Johnson, John-son, were also present. The evening was spent in reminiscences and social chat. Mr. and Mrs. Clifford L. Wright entertained at dinner last Saturday night. The entertaining rooms were beautifully decorated with cut flowers. flow-ers. The table was centered with sweet peas and ferns. After dinner progressive bridge was played followed fol-lowed by dancing In the recreation room. Those present were, Mr. and Mrs. E. A. Coulam re- cently received word of the marriage ;of then- son, H. Reed Coulam, and jAnna Dean Scott of Provo, at Twin Falls, Idaho, on December 25th. The Ladies Auxiliary of the Pleasant Pleas-ant Grove fire department held their regular monthly meeting Monday evening at the home of Mrs. Hans Williamson. Mrs. Arminta Hayes gave a talk on "How to Properly Conduct a Meeting", from Roberts rules of order. The firemen joined the ladies for refreshments at 10 p. m. Mr. and Mrs. Odis Yancey entertained enter-tained at a family dinner Sunday. The members present were, Mr. and Mrs. Martin Kimber and family, Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Nelson and family and Mr. and Mrs. Walter Williams and family of Provo; Mr. and Mi's. Darrel Yancey and Miss Eva Yancey of Pleasant Grove. The afternoon was spent in family reminiscences remin-iscences and social chat. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Wright entertained en-tertained Thursday evening at a social at their home in the Windsor Wind-sor ward in honor of the ward Old Folks Committee. A delicious hot dinner was served, after which games and social chat were enjoyed. Those present were Mr. and Mrs. William Ash, Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Richardson, Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Wil-berg, Wil-berg, Mr. and Mrs. Odeal Kirk and Mr. and Mrs- Clarence Marrott. The Third ward M. I. A. presented present-ed the "Amatuer Detective," A three act drama, at their amusement hall Thursday evening. Included in the cast of characters were Lowell Rich-ins, Rich-ins, Dale Devereaux, Gwen West, Donald Wright, Margaret Lee, Bryan Bry-an Fugal, Edna Christiansen, Gene Richins, Cyril Johnson, Sherwin Johnson and Edna Fugal. The play was under the direction of David Walker. Mrs- Ray Alien of San Francisco, who before her marriage was Donna Don-na Wadley, daughter of Ike Wadley of this city. Mrs. Edith Monson and daughters. Mrs. Annie Thayne. Mrs. j Ben Taylor of Salt Lake City, Mrs. Ida Colledga of I.rhi and Mrs. Eva j Miles of Casper. Wyoming, were, euests of Mr. Annie Holman last Saturday afternoon. Mrs. Ray Al-' len will return to her home in San Francisco next Sunday after visit-' ine for ten days with Utah relatives and friends. j Mr. and Mrs. Alma Christiansen announce the marriage of their daughter, Mildred, and Reed O. Walker, 6on of Mr. and Mrs. William Walker, at the Salt Lake temple Friday, January 4th. A shower was given Saturday evening at the Christiansen Chris-tiansen home by cousins of the bride, the Misses Fern and Lurena Rad-mall. Rad-mall. Thirty-five guests were present. pres-ent. On Wednesday afternoon a shower was given at the William Walker home by sisters of the groom. About thirty guests were present. Many gifts were received by the newly-weds. Mrs. Pearl Wadley and Mrs. Merle Coombs entertained at a bridge luiichen last Thursday evening at the Wadley home. Luncheon was served on small tables decorated with flowers and ferns.
