Show Alpine News Funeral services for Mrs. Fanny Ann Devey Strong, who passed away Monday morning following an illness ill-ness of several weeks, was held Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the Alpine ward chapel. Mrs. Strong was born in Salt Lake City, August 19, 1869, the daughter of John and Hannah Timms Devey. Her parents moved to Alpine when she was two years old, where she has since resided. She was married to Samuel D. Strong December 15, 1886, and to this union was born seven children. . She was a faithful Latter-day Saint and at the time of her death was a teacher in the Relief Society. She is survived by her husband and the following sons and daughters: daugh-ters: Clifford Strong and Mrs. Alice Peterson of Salt Lake; S. D. Strong, Magna; William J. and Mrs. Stella Clark, Alpine, and twenty-three twenty-three grandchildren. She is also survived by her aged parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Devey of Lehi, and by the following brothers and sisters: sis-ters: A. J. Devey, Alpine; John and Walter Devey, American Fork; Frank Devey, Mrs. Amy Smith and Mrs. Alice Hutchings, Lehi. The children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren of Mrs. Martha Wilkin gathered at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Ernest Clark, Sunday to honor her on her birthday. Mrs. Conrad Peterson entertained the Young Mothers Club at her home Thursday afternoon of last week. The usual activities were engaged in after which a dainty lunch was served. serv-ed. Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Bates and children and Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Terry and children visited with Mr. and Mrs. Vesper Diamond at Spring-ville Spring-ville Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Olean of Murray, and Mrs. Florence B. Smith of Salt Lake, visited with Mrs. Smith's mother, Mrs. Benjamin Bates Tuesday. |
