Show Stake Representation Repre-sentation Selected By M.I.A. I The members of the ward Mutual Improvement Associations who will represent their respective wards in the stake finals have been selected Last Tuesday night the American Fork First, Second and Third wards held their "honor night" programs at which various contests were held and recognition given those having attained "A" standard in the recreation activities. The stake finals will be held on May 8th and 9th and when the winners have been selected at these contests, the stake directors of activities ac-tivities will assist the wards in preparing pre-paring the contestants for the district dist-rict finals in Provo the latter part of May. The contestants and the results of Tuesday night are given as follows: fol-lows: First ward Junior Girls Re-told Story Miss Hazel Anderson and Miss Mary Pulley. Miss Anderson received the judges' decision. Vanguard Re-told Story Glen Nobel. M. Men Public Speaking Stanford Stan-ford Steele. Gleaner Girls Public Speaking Miss Catherine Shelton and Miss Myrtle Bigelow. Miss Shelton received re-ceived the decision. Drama. "Friend of the Famiry" The cast Nona Gaisford, Virginia Virgin-ia Taylor, Melissa Greenwood, Emma Em-ma Southworth, Beth Ellison, May Conder, Glenn Wright, Barratt Chadwick and Lynn Nelson. In this ward 114 "A" standards were attained, and special recognition recog-nition was given the 83 individuals, a number of whom reached the standard in several of the activities. Second ward Junior Girls Re-told Story Miss Edith Clarke and Miss Verda Miller. Miss Clarke won first place. Drama "Friend of the Family" and "Wedding Presents". First place was given the cast presenting "Friend of the Family", who were: Bernice Wilde, Bessie Kelly, Violet Peters, Betha Starrs, Mariam Young, Madeline Robinson, Dayton Healey, James Peters and Phil Harrington. Appearing in the other play were Amy Wagstaff, Zora Sagers, Dettaj Taylor, Ferren Sagers and Clair Christensen. In the Second ward 110 "A" standards stand-ards were attained and awards were presented by the department leaders lead-ers to 76 individuals. Third ward Junior Re-told Story Miss Irene Giddmgs, Miss Laura Vance and Miss Jean Holmsteod. First place was awarded Miss Giddings. Vanguard Re-told Story Howard Hobinon. M. Abel, Vivian Lee, Grace Parker, Inez McDonald, Virginia Shelley, Catherine Holin-drake, Holin-drake, Glen Gordon, Melvin Brown Virginia Shelley, Catherine Holin-and Holin-and Junior Mitchell. Recognition was given 39 individuals indivi-duals who had attained "A" standard stand-ard in the several activities. Fourth ward The finals in the events in this ward were held on Thursday night, April 17th. The following will represent rep-resent the ward at the stake finals: "Junior Girls Retold Story1 Miss Fem Robinson. Vanguard Re-told Story Phil Jensen. M. Men Public Speaking Stewart Durrant. Gleaner Public Speaking Gleaner Girl Public Speaking Dorothy Grant and Ferl Dean tied for first place. |
