Show Pleasant Grove Locals j Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Galli, of Midway, Mid-way, were visitors at the J. P. Fugal home Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs. A. Will Jones of Provo, were guests of Mr. and Mrs. J. P. Fugal Sunday. EitoI Christiansen and r Harold Nielson returned Saturday from Montana. j Mrs. Nora Stringfellow of Salt Lake, was the guest of her cousin, Mrs. James D. Thorne, Tuesday. Ruth Archer Johnson of Provo, spent the week-end with Mr. and Mrs .Herman Parduhn. Margaret Kirk, who is attending school at the U. S. A. C. at Logan, 6pent the week-end with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. P. Kirk. Mr. and Mrs. Leland Kirk and family, Mr. and Mrs. LaVar Kirk and family, and Miss Emma Kirk all of Salt Lake, were Sunday visitors visi-tors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. W. P. Kirk. The children of Mrs. Alonzo Hoo-ley Hoo-ley entertained at a surprise social last Thursday evening in honor of her 64th birthday. A beautiful birthday cake with 64 candles formed form-ed a centerpiece of the dinner table. The evening was spent in family chat. Mrs. J. H. Adams is still very seriously ill at her home. Her children child-ren are all at her bed side. Mrs. Pearl Judd from Idaho, Mrs. Charles Robbins of Wyoming, Mrs. Errol Robbins of Salt Lake, all arrived to help care for their mother. Mrs. John Smith is recovering from pneumonia. Mrs. Lavina Fugal gave a talk to , the Draper Flower Club Monday evening. Mrs. Grace Lim Sorenson visited Thursday and Friday with her parents, par-ents, Mayor and Mrs. W. W. Lim. Mr. and Mrs. Leon Jackson are proud parents of a fine baby boy, born last Thursday, April 19th. Mr. and Mrs. Harley Bloomquist and children of Salt Lake, visited the week-end with Mrs. Bloomquist's parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. B. Harper. Rhodin Christiansen, who is attending at-tending the Electric and .Raido school in Salt Lake, spent Sunday "with relatives here. Dr. and Mrs. G. Y. Anderson and family spent the week-end in Idaho where they went to visit with the Doctors father who is ill. The Future Farmers of the Pleasant Pleas-ant Grove High School enjoyed a swimming party at Saratoga Monday Mon-day evening. The Vanguards of the Timpanogos stake enjoyed a swimming party at Saratoga Wednesday evening. Miss Louise Hanson of Provo, spent the week-end with her brother I and sister-in-law, Herbert Hanson and family. Mrs. Rhea Halliday returned home : Sunday after spending six weeks in Salt Lake City where she has been employed. Ole Christiansen, and son Parley, returned Saturday from a four day 1 trip to Ibapah, Nevada. Mrs. Hazel Richards and four children are the guests of Mr. 'and Mrs. Parson Richards. Mrs. Laura Robertson, Mrs. Thomas Tho-mas Williamson, Miss Margaret Lea, motored to Midvale Monday to call on Mrs. Thomas Williamson Jr. Earl Smith had the misfortune Saturday while cutting kindling to practically sever two fingers on his left hand. The ax caught on his clothing and diverted the sharp ax. A doctor attended the wound which Is progressing nicely. Reed Gillman was operated on last Thursday at the Aird hospital in Provo for appendicitis. At last reports he is doing as well as can be expected. The Windsor ward M. I. A. held their contest plays last Tuesday evening. The play entitled "The Conflict'' will be presented in the stake contest next week. Those taking part in the play are: Carol Gillman, Bernice Lowder, Donna Gillman and Ray Downs. The play, "Friend of the Family" was presented, pre-sented, with the following your.g people in the cast. Ray Keetch, Don . , Halts. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Keetch are proud parents of a three and one-half one-half pound baby boy, born April 21, at the home of Mrs. Keetch's mother, moth-er, Mrs. Lurena Nielson. Mrs. Keetch and baby are getting along fairly well. Mr. Keetch left the first of the week for Delta where he will be employed for some time. f Clifford L. Wright, mana-ger of the Pleasant Grove Canning Co., returned return-ed Friday evening from a business trip to Chicago and Eastern points. He drove a new half ton International Interna-tional truck home. The Boy Scouts of the Third ward entertained at a camp fire party near Battle Creek last Saturday evening eve-ning in honor of their Scoutmaster David Williamson, who has resigned. The new scoutmaster, Donald Wright, and nineteen scouts were responsible for the party. Marsh-mellows Marsh-mellows and weenies were roasted. Stories and games completed the program. Mr. and Mrs. LeGrande White. Mrs. Inez Olpin and Miss Donna O'.pin and Mrs. May Marte risen of Ephraim, were called to Pocatello. Idaho last Friday on account of the serious illness of Don Boulter, a grandson of Mrs. Olpin, who is in the Pocatello hospital suffering with nvastoid trouble. Mrs. Mortensen, who is a trained nurse, and Mrs. Olpin Ol-pin remained to take care of the boy. The remainder of the party returned home Sunday. |
