Show As IjSee It CHAPPY Hello Chappy! May I enter your column for a short visit? I have been interested in your logic ever since you began writing and I now feel the urge to write a few lines. "Our community has suffered a severe set back in the last two years, caused principally by the Bank failure, the depression has also made its inroads, but we still have one more cause; the pessisi-mistic pessisi-mistic soul who stands on the street comers and attempts to cure all, with his wail, Now lets forget these individuals and all get together and make American Fork the good old town it used to be. It can be done. Lets put over a community recreation rec-reation and sports field at the High School grounds. Lets convert the old Baseball grounds into an up-to-date "Community Airport". Lets insist on the paving, by the state, of the portion of road, from the Alpine road to American Fork canyon. Lets put American Fork on the m;ip this year with a real live baseball team. Lets have 100 percent cooperation coop-eration from all the business houses on a half holiday, through the summer season. Lets unite the Lions Club, the Service Star and American Legion, Le-gion, the church organizations and the Civic Works Union, in our common cause, "The upbuilding up-building of American Fork". Lets all uphold the city officers in their efforts to administer the affairs of the city in such a way as to make American Fork a better bet-ter place in which to live, with out an increase in our tax levy. Lets all remember that anyone can criticize and destroy, but it takes a constructive mind to be a builder. Thanks for the courtesy. Chappy No. 2. |
