Show Stake Committee To Make Study Of Farm Problems Coordinating its efforts with the Agricultural Advisory Committee of the L. D. S. church, the Alpine Stake Agricultural Committee is launching out as an actively-functioning group having as its objectives objec-tives the welfare of the farmer. Appointed recently, the committee is headed by ! Ross Buckwalter, chairman, with Will S'agers, vice chairman; Jesse Spafford, secretary, and Rulon Nicholes and Reed Burgess, Bur-gess, committeemen. Members of the committee attended at-tended a meeting of directors of the Church Security plan of the Central Utah region, over which President Clifford E. Young of Alpine Al-pine stake, regional chairman, presided, pre-sided, at Provo Friday night. At this meeting, where they met with C. Orval Stott, secretary of the church agricultural committee, County Agent S. R. Boswell and Clarence Ashton, assistant county agent, the committee members were given further information as to the functions and objectives of their group. The committee will work in connection con-nection with the Agricultural Advisory Ad-visory committee of the church, and will cooperate with the ward welfare committees. Acting in an advisory capacity, the committee will strive primarily to be of service ser-vice to the farmers of the stake. In carrying out its objectives, the committee will, whenever necessary, call in agricultural experts for their advice to be furnished free to the farmer; will conduct an educational education-al campaign in the interests of farmers, and in other ways will strive to assist the farmer in every way possible. o |
