Show Alpine News Mrs. Warren V. Clark, Reporter Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Kiddle of Salt Lake City and Mr. and Mrs. Milton Muir of Alpine spent Sunday in Springville, visiting relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Hugh W. Peterson of Provo, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Peterson, Pet-erson, and Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy Strong of Salt Lake City spent Sunday Sun-day visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Strong. Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Clark attended at-tended the concert in the Salt Lake tabernacle on Friday evening, by Lawrence Tibbett. The Alpine ward Relief society held a delightful social Tuesday afternoon. A banquet was served to the 74 ladies attending, who were J seated at one long table in the banquet ban-quet hall. The party was in celebration cele-bration of all the members' birthdays, birth-days, and with Mrs. Ida Royce acting act-ing as toastmistress, toasts were given for each month of the year, by the following: Mrs. Esther Ham-mett, Ham-mett, January; Mrs. Maude Beck, February; Mrs. Ina Brown, March; Mrs. Leah Bair, April; Mrs. Martha Strong, May; Mrs. Carrie Devey, June; Mrs. Minnie Healey, July; Mrs. Bertha Adams, August; Mrs. May Marsh, September; Mrs. Hertha Watkins, October; Mrs. Cora Whitby, Whit-by, November; and Mrs. Lillie Smith, December. The table was cleverly decorated in a pink and white color scheme, and at intervals there were placed potted flowers and pink sweet peas. Musical numbers included a vocal solo by Mrs. Alice Vance, and a duet by Mildred Bair and Norma Healey. It was announced announc-ed that Mrs. Angie Clark was oldest member present, and Mrs. Louise Austin the youngest. Several stake board members were guests at the affair Mrs. Ivy Steele, Mrs. Ora Chipman, Mrs. Mary Abel and Mrs. Fern Walker of American Fork, and Mrs. Inez Burgess of Alpine. |
