Show u Are We Baseball Base-ball Minded? Wholesome recreation is an asset to any community. Baseball is a splendid activity both from the standpoint of those participating and Ifrom that of the spectators. It affords af-fords an ideal opportunity for relaxation relax-ation and genuine enjoyment. The average fan likes to see a well played play-ed game regardless of who wins. It is our ambition to afford good baseball this summer played 4ri a sportsmanlike manner and under as 'comfortable conditions to the fans as possible. To this end we have, through the whole hearted cooperation coopera-tion of many of our citizens, constructed con-structed bleachers and made other improvements on our ball grounds. These improvements should afford many hours of real enjoyment during dur-ing the summer. The support thus far received is very commendable and greatly appreciated ap-preciated by the baseball committee. But if 'we are to put this sport over right we must have one hundred per cent cooperation from everyone. We need your financial support and we feel sure we will have no reason to be disappointed. Committees are at work selling season tickets and the response thus far has been very encouraging. en-couraging. We feel confident that the people of Pleasant Grove, Lindon and manila will support us and if you do we assure you your response will be instrumental in putting our communities on the map from a baseball standpoint. In our efforts to establish a weekly week-ly half holiday we have been very successful. Our merchants and business busi-ness men have responded loyally and we certainly wish to congratulate them. After all, pulling together gives any community prestage. Nothing is more gratifying to any committee' than a demonstration of loyalty. In all our efforts we have only mot with one real disappointment. One merchant could not see fit to support sup-port us and refused to close with the rest of the business houses. We are sincerely sorry that he has taken this attitude as we feel confident that he will be the looser and not the other merchants. Some times we have to learn by sad experience. In this connection let us say that the baseball team and baseball committee com-mittee expect to support the merchants merch-ants who . support us. Let us work for closer cooperation between our merchants and citizenry and we will all be better off. We trust that this merchant will see his error and fall in line with the rest and be the good sport he is capable of being. Signed, The Baseball Committee. |
